Dallas Doctor Sees 300% Jump in Male Breast Fat Reductions
DALLAS, TX–(August 24, 2010) – Too many men have suffered in silence for too long, according to Dr. Bill Johnson, Medical Director of Innovations Medical. He wants more men to “Loose the Moobs” by leveraging modern cosmetic procedures to solve a serious problem.
Male breast fat.
“Either more men are developing flabby pecs, or men are just taking better care of themselves now,” says Dr. Johnson. “We’ve seen the interest in male breast fat reduction jump dramatically in the last year.”
Johnson’s team of technicians at Innovations medical has seen a 300% increase in the demand for this procedure over the last 3 years. “These days, I see at least one ‘moob’ patient per week,” says Johnson. “All of them want liposuction to reduce their chest fat.”
Medically, it’s called gynecomastia, but most men refer to their enlarged breasts as “moobs.” Some Hollywood glitterati have been snapped with “moobs”: Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, even Arnold Schwarzenegger. There are numerous YouTube videos. But no one needs to put up with it, according to Johnson.
Causes can include obesity, hormones and kidney disease, but most of the determining factors are genetic.
“A decade ago, men didn’t seek out cosmetic procedures to address their appearance, but they do now,” says Dr. Johnson. “It’s simple and effective.” Dr. Johnson’s unique “moob” liposuction takes less than one hour, and the patient is awake the entire time. “A guy can come in, have the procedure, and be back at work the next day,” says Johnson. He combines two popular lipo technologies — Tickle Liposuction and SmartLipo. The combination allows for removal of excess fat and skin tightening in the chest area.
“I want more men to take better care of themselves,” says Dr. Johnson. “Get over the hesitation and loose the moobs!”

Football game and charity go together to help Alzheimer’s Association’s Dallas chapter
Football game and charity go together to help Alzheimer’s Association’s Dallas chapter
12:00 AM CDT on Monday, August 9, 2010
Some 150 of Dallas’ most determined young professionals will take the field Aug. 14 for the third annual Blondes vs. Brunettes Powder-Puff Football Game benefiting the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
The pregame show at 7 p.m. will get under way with Ebby Halliday , the youthful 99-year-old real estate mogul and Touchdown Sponsor, flipping the coin at Highland Park High School’s Highlander Stadium.
“We are so proud to support the third annual Blondes vs. Brunettes Football Game as part of our company’s 65th Anniversary celebration,” says Ms. Halliday. “This impressive group of young men and women has done so much over the past three years to raise funds and much needed awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. We applaud their efforts and we are honored to be a part of their team.”
The game is comprised of 50 women on each side of the field, representing Team Blonde and Team Brunette, supported by their male coaches, who teach them drills, routes and plays for the game – after raising funds and awareness off the field from June until mid-August.
Players and coaches dedicate their summer to the cause. More than 60 percent of the participants have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease in some way, whether it is a family member, friend or neighbor.
“I joined this organization to be the voice for my mom, who is suffering silently from early onset Alzheimer’s,” says Team Brunette rookie Catelyn Cappleman, who attended the game in 2009 and decided to join the 2010 season.
“BvB has given me the opportunity to fight back against this disease that has stolen so much from my mom and my family.”
“The energy, passion and drive demonstrated by these young professionals, blonde and brunette, to end Alzheimer’s disease within their lifetimes is simply amazing,” said John Gilchrist, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Dallas chapter.
“They have created a dynamic venue for purposeful action against Alzheimer’s disease. Funds raised from last year’s event have enabled our chapter to enhance its ability to reach Spanish-speaking households, support research efforts, and create the Young Research Fellows program.” The last two games have raised a combined $210,000 for bilingual programming, research, 24/7 help line, and a grant to send two local researchers to ICAD (International Conference for Alzheimer’s Disease).
“The goal for this year’s game is to raise $165,000 by game day. To date, the players and coaches have raised $157,000.
“Over 57,000 North Texans suffer from Alzheimer’s, and the disease affects hundreds of thousands of their family members and relatives. Tickets to the game are included in a $25 donation to BvB Dallas. To donate online and for more information, visit www.bvbdallas.org
